Platanus mexicana

Fast growing riparian bottomland tree native to Mexico, better choice than American Sycamore in Central Texas improved heat, drought tolerance & disease resistance. Showy white bark, large leaves draw the eye, forms very high crowned, open HUGE shade tree. Best in deep soils, but adaptable, fine with moist/seasonally wet; like most river bottom trees will need to be sited in riparian area or receive life long summer irrigation.
