Myospermum sousanum

This beautiful legume tree was found so close to the border by legendary plantsman Lynn Lowery its hard to imagine it has no Texas populations, we find it thrives in our Central Texas garden from thin escarpment soils to deep clay. Outstanding heat, drought, and cold tolerance combined with fast growth. Cloudlike, billowy foliage provides perfect light summer shade for gardening and fragrant, cream blooms perfume garden in spring.
