Ilex decidua

One of our beautiful native hollies, red berries stand out boldly on bare near white branches in winter. White bloom early spring brings bees! Host plant for Henry's Elfin Butterfly. Native to much of Eastern and Central Texas, including our area. Not finicky about soil, but no standing seasonal water.

Very drought tolerant once established.

Deciduous, hardy z5-9.
