Clematis texensis

aka Scarlet Leatherflower. Native to the Edward's Plateau, this pretty scarlet flowered clematis likes to grow with its roots in the shade and leaves moving into the sun, young transplants in particular need shade from hot afternoon shade. Give structure to climb, small statured vine is perfect for obelisks & other small features, also containers, or grow at base of large shrub or tree as often found in nature. Needs good drainage, summer irrigation.
