Variant
Found from the Southern Edward's Plateau west into the Chihuahuan Desert, well adapted to hot, dry conditions with showy blooms in late summer thru fall that hummingbirds - and other native pollinators - adore. Attractive white winter bark. Shears well for hedging, should be trimmed hard late winter to increase density and control size for following year. Widely adapted to soil types, but best in well drained soils. Very drought tolerant once estabished.

Cold hardy z7-z9.
