Symphyotrichum oblongifolium, Fall Aster

Iconic purple fall blooms, a "must" for migrating Monarchs & other pollinators, combine with Grey Goldenrod, Fragrant White Mistflower, native grasses for stunning show, heavy pollinator visitation. Trim late spring to create denser summer growth & showier fall bloom. Tolerant of most soils, adaptable from well irrigated to xeric landscapes, but a few deep soakings over summer will give best show in fall. Very drought tolerant once established.
