Formerly Polianthes tuberosa, which makes more sense to us than Agave, this short, rosette (cough) Agave sports soft leaves, grassy until midsummer, which are followed by oversized white blooms with an intense and beloved perfume. Used throughout history and several cultures as a highly desired fragrance. Be sure to plant it near a bench or window to enjoy the late summer fragrance. Best in well drained soils, drought tolerant once established.
