Ebanopsis ebano

Native to the valley, this beautiful native tree is best grown as container specimen in our area, but visitors from farther south may want to snag one for their garden. Needs excellent drainage, also very drought tolerant once established, great heat tolerance, but not very cold tolerant. An outstanding bonsai subject! Fragrant cream colored summer bloom attracts pollinators, host plant. Beautiful growth habit with near evergreen foliage, well armed with stout thorns provides safe refuge for wildlife.
