Citharexylum berlandieri, Berlandier's Fiddlewood

Rio Grande Valley native, woody shrub in the Verbena family. Nectar rich, white star shaped blooms spring -summer attract pollinators, followed by long clusters of orange fruit that ripen to black. Great food source for wildlife, host plant to multiple butterflies.
