Amyris texana, Texas Torchwood

aka Chapotillo. South Texas chaparral native. Good ornamental potential with naturally rounded shape and short internodes, may prune well,  white blooms attract native pollinators. Shiny black fruit attracts birds. Normally fine on sandy/rocky soils; needs good drainage. Host plant for multiple Swallowtail Butterflies! Native to sandy, gritty, rocky soils; needs good drainage. Very drought tolerant once established.
